I bought this cute, yellow trash can at Marshall's for only $5.99! I have no need for a trash can in my room, but I'm using it as a catch-all for my headbands, beanies, and scarves. Kinda cute, eh?

I've been looking at wire baskets a lot lately, and have been particularly obsessed with a wire milk crate that I found at Target. However, these baskets seem a bit over priced so I've hesitated in buying any. Until today! I found this great basket at Marshall's for only $4.99!!!

I'm currently using the basket to hold extra pillows and my childhood teddy bear, Teddy. :)

Special Guest: Katelyn & Charlie Henry

Today's post is very special, because it features my very best friend, Katelyn! I went over to her apartment for a fondue night with she and her fiance, Charlie, and while I was there I took the opportunity to take some photos of her chic apartment. The awesome light on the wall above the sofa was purchased from IKEA. (As was the white Karlstad loveseat.)


I love that Katy has used her trombone to decorate. (She played all through high school, and she is an Awesome musician.) The end table and matching coffee table were purchased second-hand. The standing lamp with the twig cover was purchased from Marshalls.


Katy has utilized space in her apartment by puchasing this really great Expedit entertainment center from IKEA. By filling some of the shelves with both the Knipsa and Kottebo baskets, she created more storage space.


This is just a fun shot of Kate's fiance Charlie. He did a lot of the cooking that night, and the food was delicious!


I love the awesome light that hangs over the table. (It's also from IKEA.)


This is just a shot of our dessert. The dessert was vanilla bean ice cream put into a hulled out orange halve, drizzeled with an orange syrup and garnished with a little slice of orange. Also, delicious. :)

Oddities

I found these fabulous plates at our local Marshall's and simply fell in love with them! The long rectangular plates are a robin's egg blue with a geometrical design in teal, and the round salad plates are robin's egg blue with an orange coral design.

Shortly after, I found these cereal/soup bowls that match perfectly, with a robin's egg blue exterior and orange interior. The thick plastic cups were also purchased at Marshall's and come in both short and tall.

I got four of each type of cup and plate to complete the collection. I'd say they all look pretty fabulous together, not to mention they're just plain fun! :)
